Netscape Communicator is the supported
internet browser of the University of Connecticut due to its
stability and features.
Netscape is compatible with both PC and Macintosh and with most
Operating Systems for those two platforms. The ITS Helpdesk
gives full support for the download, install, and set up of
Netscape Communicator for all University users.
Follow these links for assistance with
the download, install, and setup for specific versions of Netscape
Communicator. The current supported version is Communicator
4.79, but the ITS gives support for previous versions as well.
Listed in the table below are links to documentation describing
the process of downloading, installing, and setting up Netscape
Communicator for the PC and Mac.
Just to note, there is not documentation currently written for
Communicator 4.79 and 4.76. The links to 4.79 and 4.76 below
are direct links to the UConn FTP site. If assistance is needed,
use the documentation associated with Communicator 4.70 or contact
the Helpdesk directly.
